North Dakota Farmers Union is committed to providing effective grassroots leadership in rural America and to significantly increase net farm income, improve the quality of rural life and increase North Dakota's rural population so that family farmers and rural communities can thrive and prosper.
The objectives set forth by the members of NDFU are adopted for the purpose of re-establishing the family farm structure as the primary system for agricultural production, rural and urban stability, national prosperity, the preservation of human and natural resources and the dignity of the individual and the family.
Communicate with elected representatives One of every four North Dakotans can thank agriculture for their job. That adds up, given that agriculture accounts for 25 percent of the state’s economic base.
2009 Report Card Prior to the beginning of the 61st legislative session in January, North Dakota Farmers Union informed lawmakers that our legislative team would actively participate in the process of developing laws and policies that would be beneficial to the members of the state’s largest general farm organization.
