Preferred Auto Program

The flexibility of Farmers Union Insurance's Family Car Policy allows you to select from different coverages, limits and deductibles and thereby customize the policy to fit your needs and your budget.

Coverage includes:

Liability Coverage—Pays for damages (up to the liability limit chosen) for which an insured is legally liable because of bodily injury or property damage arising out of the ownership, maintenance or use of a car.

Uninsured Motorists Coverage—Pays for bodily injury damages (up to the liability limit chosen) which an insured is entitled to recover from an uninsured motorist.

Underinsured Motorists Coverage—Pays for bodily injury damages (up to the liability limit chosen) to an insured in excess of the amount available to pay the insured under the policy of an underinsured driver.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP)—Required in no-fault states, provides benefits to an insured for bodily injury caused by an accident involving the use of a motor vehicle (not including motor homes when used as residences). PIP benefits are provided whether or not the accident was the insured's fault.

Medical Payments Coverage—Pays for an insured's reasonable medical expenses (up to the liability limit chosen) for bodily injury. This coverage may not be offered in some no-fault states when Personal Injury Protection coverage provides medical coverage.

Comprehensive Coverage—Pays for the repair or replacement of a car when damaged by certain causes, such as fire, explosion, theft, windstorm, hail, flood or vandalism.

Collision Coverage—Pays for the repair or replacement of a car (up to actual cash value) in the event of its overturn or collision with another object.

Both Comprehensive and Collision Coverages may be purchased with a variety of deductibles. The deductible is the amount that the insured pays. Naturally, the higher the deductibles chosen, the lower the premiums.
